      Hi, thanks for the suggestion. At the bottom of the page I added 4 books. Any one of them will give you the basics. The first one on the left, The Paleo Manifesto by John Durant is in my opinion the best. He is also the person interviewed in the top/first video in this article.

    Well, just like any other diet, things sound great here. The diet keeps you on a strict routine, which is good for learning to deal with a new diet, but what happens when you stray from that diet? You get all the weight back in short order. For training purposes, it might not be a bad idea, but I do not think this one is for me.

    A side affect I’ve been experiencing since I started dieting is poor sleep habits. Not sure if it is a sugar imbalance, that I’m hungry, subconscious cravings, or what. I’d been told a Paleo Diet improves sleep and this article suggests the same, so I am willing to give it a try. Have to diet, but have to sleep too, right?

      Hey Cam! When you haven’t had a good night’s rest, it can leave you hungry for the rest of the day. If you make sure you sleep well, eating healthy becomes easier. How about vitamin imbalances? Did you check if you take in all required vitamins, minerals and nutrients?

    Well, it is definitely a strict diet, but for some people that is good. I overheard a friend talking about this diet and the fact that he felt much better about himself, inside and out. I might have to look into this.

    The Paleo Diet makes sense but I’m going to continue to drink milk, eat cheese, grains, beans аnd legumes. I guess that means I am creating my own diet plan that will be devoid of sugar, processed foods, and “edible oil” products (I recently read that on a coffee creamer). Nothing wrong with the Paleo Diet, but for me it is too limiting.

      Interesting you should say this. I’ve not heard of anyone who follows the letter of Paleo Law. It seems pretty much everyone has their own little “twist” on the Paleo diet. I believe it’s more important to follow the spirit of Paleo rather than the precise diet. I know I do. For instance I use hard cheeses and Heavy Whipping Cream. I can’t always find “Grass Fed” meats but that doesn’t stop me from eating meat.

    I have heard about the Paleo or caveman diet but did not research it at all. The food in the video looks tasty and the benefits are attractive. I have do diet on doctor’s orders (cholesterol and weight are both is too high) so I may as well give this a go.

      Norman Tate, I agree. We are a species that has been around long, long before processed and packaged foods laced with salt and sugar came along. So I am pretty sure what we ate before we evolved into obese, sedentary blobs was probably what we were supposed to be eating all along.
