What Is LLLT, Low-Level Light Therapy?

Low-level laser light therapy, also called LLLT, is a type of medical technology that uses low-level light-emitting diodes or LEDs to treat the skin or body parts affected by diseases such as cancer, arthritis, eczema, and psoriasis. While most high-powered laser treatments are used in conventional laser medicine for cosmetic or reconstructive surgery, it has been claimed that the application of low power lasers assists in the repair or elimination of tissue or stimulates or enhances cell activity. While the mechanism of action of low-intensity light-emitting diode lasers on the human body is unknown, it has been observed that the light emitted from such lasers is absorbed by the body’s tissues is used to repair the cellular level damage caused due to disease.
